I have been contacted by an architect that is working on a new building for ODOT. They are demolishing an existing garage and replacing it. He informed me that they are pursuing a variance from the Division of Industrial Compliance for sprinkler requirements. I am curious if anyone else has dealt with this type of situation and the outcomes of those. I have not yet received all of the details from the architect as I am to meet with him virtually the end of the week. I would like some insight ahead of time so I know what questions I need to bring up, or if I am wasting my time taking a position againist the variance due to this being one state agency working with another.
